Once again I am digging my way out of the dirty dishes. Why do I always feel like I'm playing catch-up? Probably because I always am!
As I was drying off more of the counter top than I had seen in days, a thought hit me: Each week, each day, each moment of diligence just gets me one step closer to finally having an entire counter top clean.
Then the really exciting thought skitted across my brain: Each word I write brings me one step closer to a finished work!!
I've been a bit discouraged at all the projects I have on my plate. Granted, they are self-imposed, but they are works God has burdened me with. They need to be written. The problem is, I have stopped working on them almost completely because of the discouragement.
Now, however, I am once again encouraged and am back on the horse! Even if I only have five minutes, one brain cell, and a weak premise - at least the effort will produce something to bring me a bit closer to that finished masterpiece. I just know it.!

- I am married with 2 school-aged children. I chose to quit my job outside our home and focus on my full-time responsibility as a parent when our daughter was born. I have found that being a stay-at-home mom has been MUCH more challenging than any job I have ever had. The demands of mothering have called for much inner searching and continual growth in my character. As a wife I am continually becoming aware of my own selfish tendencies and how often I forget that life is not all about me. My hope with my writing is to portray a brutally honest picture of life as a woman, wife, and mother trying to live her life with purpose, honor God, and leave a lasting legacy. Not too high of an ideal, eh?
